Florida State University Aug 2017-May 2020

Tallahasse, FL
MFA Technical Production Program

For three years, I have been learning and growing from this university, getting my graduate degree in the process. While I have been here, I have worked for the scenic, prop, & paint shops in various tasks from simple one day calls to twenty hours per week from my assistantship. Classes have ranged from introduction class on rigging to programing winches using Creative Conners. The faculty & staff have taught me into doing tasks the right way and creating good habits for both my life and my professional career.

With the technical director credit, I was in charge of the children's show. With a scenic budget of $3000, we ordered a pink tabbing curtain inside the false-pro, another portal unit, a quick-change stand bed wagon, and a fridge unit. We CNC'ed all of the applique on the false-pro. The bed unit want made to cover all of the actress except her face for the quick changes and to hide two dressers.

This show was challenging to say the least. We had two automated wagons, two pinrail platforms, a giant false-pro with custom molding and 100 2" globe lamps, prison bars, 10 flying muslin covered broadway flats, and the pink curtain from Pinkalicious. The budget was $4500, so I went through all our storage and pulled items that some of the staff did not was in storage. We used an old spiral staircase and old flats pulled from a warehouse. The prison bar were recycled from Hairspray. The automation wagons were created for this show, including two new winches and a new Creative Conner drive system.
