Hello There!
My name is Brock Baird, and I am a theatrical technical director. I grew up in Charleston, SC and graduated from Western Carolina University in 2013 with BA in Stage & Screen. I took a few years off from school and worked multiple theatres as well as marine construction. In 2017, I went back to school at Florida State University & got my MFA in Technical Production in May 2020. As of August 2023, I am working at Stage Right as a projector manager and fab shop manager. I have learned so much through my journey and very happy to continue learning and growing.

The team designed and built a custom 10'0" long desk that could hold up to 5 people at the desk and the video wall panels in the front. Going with oval top and bottom designs and a rolled alum pipe give a super clean look. The wood laminate top made our project manager think about the hardwoods on the basketball court.

The shop crew left the theatre after a long notes call. I took this photo while I am waiting to talk to the stage management team before they got ready for rehearsal onstage. I wanted to go over some of the changes and adds like the tracking curtains to the downstage wings.

Our client was wanting a igloo to go over and around a double door that had to open during the event. In the photo above, the fab shop is testing the wood frame to make sure it was the correct size and could stand up straight.

After building eighteen 4x8 platforms for seating risers and a tile paint treatment on the stage floor, we made a small confetti bag to be operated from 30' above the stage to cover the playing area with custom printed post-it notes.
